Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup cooking oil
  • 1 jar prune baby food
  • 2 1/2 cups plus 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda

Instructions

  1. Beat eggs, sugar, cooking oil, and prune baby food well in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the flour, salt, cinnamon, and cloves to the mixture and stir until combined.
  3. Dissolve the soda in one cup of buttermilk and add to the batter, mixing thoroughly.
  4. Grease and flour the baking pans.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pans.
  6. Bake at 325°F (160°C) for about 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
