Ingredients

  • 1 can pumpkin or butternut squash
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup nuts
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin, evaporated milk, sugar, eggs, salt, and cinnamon (or pumpkin pie spice). Mix well.
  3. Pour the pumpkin mixture into a greased baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the pumpkin layer.
  5. Slice the butter into small pieces and distribute over the cake mix.
  6. Sprinkle the nuts on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes or until set and golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
