Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons soda
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 2 cups pumpkin
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup salad oil
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 3/4 cup nuts

Instructions

  1. Sift the dry ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Add the liquids and pumpkin, and mix well.
  3. Stir in the raisins and nuts.
  4. Fill three 1-pound coffee cans two-thirds full.
  5. Grease and flour the cans, then bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
