Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cans prepared fruit filling
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Mix margarine with beaten egg; add vanilla.
  2. Add dry ingredients, using a fork.
  3. Mix well, but leave crumbly.
  4. Divide batter into 2 portions.
  5. Using a 9 x 12-inch pan, place half of the batter on the bottom; spread evenly.
  6. Pour fruit filling over batter.
  7. Spread remaining batter on top.
  8. Sprinkle top of batter with a mixture of brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts.
  9. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes at 350°F.
