Ingredients

  • 6 c. lukewarm water
  • 3 pkg. dry yeast
  • 6 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 1 c. molasses or honey
  • 1 c. wheat germ
  • 8 c. whole wheat flour
  • 2 c. soy flour
  • 3 c. white flour
  • 1 lb. pecans or nut meats
  • 1 lb. seedless raisins

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water; add salt, oil, and molasses. Stir well.
  2. Add wheat germ, whole wheat flour, soy flour, white flour, nuts, and raisins.
  3. Use about 1 cup of white flour in kneading.
  4. Adjust flour as needed to make a proper dough.
  5. Knead the dough well.
  6. Set aside to rise until double in bulk.
  7. Knead again and divide into 6 loaves.
  8. Let rise again in loaf pans.
