Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. flaked coconut (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°.
  2. Lightly grease an 8-inch square pan.
  3. Combine flour and sugar.
  4. Using a pastry blender or fork, cut in margarine until the mixture resembles fine meal.
  5. Press the mixture into the greased pan.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes, or just until the edges are golden.
