Ingredients

  • 2 lb. round steak
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. onion salt
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Cut the round steak into 6 pieces and pound the flour into the meat.
  2. Brown the meat well in shortening.
  3. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add crushed garlic and sliced onion.
  5. Continue cooking until the onion is tender and browned.
  6. Add water and remaining ingredients, then cover.
  7. Bake in a 375°F oven until the meat is tender, about 2 hours.
