Ingredients

  • 8 medium potatoes, sliced thin
  • 2 lb. lean ground beef, browned
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 2 medium carrots, sliced
  • 1 tsp. marjoram
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. parsley, chopped
  • 1 can beef broth

Instructions

  1. Place one-third of the potato slices in the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish.
  2. Top with even layers of half of the ground beef, onion slices, cabbage, and carrot slices.
  3. Sprinkle with part of the marjoram, salt, and pepper.
  4. Repeat the layers, ending with potato slices arranged in a pattern on top.
  5. Dot with butter and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
  6. Pour beef broth over all and cover the casserole.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 1 1/2 hours or until potatoes are tender.
