Raspberry Strawberry Cake Squares

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups quick oats
  • 1 box strawberry cake mix
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 21 oz can raspberry pie filling
  • 1/8 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine oatmeal, cake mix, and 6 tablespoons of margarine.
  2. Mix until crumbly.
  3. Reserve 1 cup of the crumb mixture for topping.
  4. With the remaining crumbs, add the egg and mix well.
  5. Press the mixture into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan to form the crust.
  6. Spread raspberry pie filling over the crust.
  7. To the reserved crumbs, add the remaining margarine, chopped walnuts, and brown sugar. Mix thoroughly.
  8. Sprinkle the walnut mixture over the raspberry filling.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35 minutes.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before cutting into squares.
