Ingredients

  • 2 qt. water
  • 2 c. thinly sliced carrots
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 2 Tbsp. Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 c. small potatoes
  • 1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 (16 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 1/2 lb. crab meat

Instructions

  1. Place water in a large stockpot and bring to a boil.
  2. Add sliced carrots, chopped celery, margarine, Old Bay seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, and cook until boiling.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add small potatoes and cook for an additional 20 to 30 minutes until tender.
  5. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and 2 cups of water, then simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Drain peas and add crab meat to the soup.
  7. Simmer for 10 minutes, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Cook for an additional 10 minutes before serving hot.
