Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground round steak
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. fresh bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce with onions
  • 3 oz. thinly sliced Italian dry salami
  • 8 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 c. sliced green olives

Instructions

  1. Blend together ground round steak, eggs, bread crumbs, salt, garlic salt, cayenne, and half of the tomato sauce with onions.
  2. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  3. Pat the meat mixture into a 16 x 10-inch rectangle on wax paper or aluminum foil.
  4. Layer the thinly sliced Italian dry salami, shredded mozzarella cheese, and sliced green olives on the meat rectangle.
  5. Roll up the meat rectangle tightly to form a log.
  6. Place the rolled beef log in a baking dish and cover with the remaining tomato sauce with onions.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 45 minutes, or until cooked through and browned.
  8. Slice and serve hot, garnished as desired.
