Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Crisco
  • 4 cups cooked spaghetti
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups canned tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Sauté chopped onion in melted Crisco until translucent.
  2. Add hamburger and seasonings; cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Place a layer of cooked spaghetti in a baking dish.
  4. Add the cooked meat mixture over the spaghetti.
  5. Repeat layering with remaining spaghetti and meat mixture.
  6. Pour canned tomatoes over the layered spaghetti and meat.
  7. Sprinkle grated cheese on top.
  8. Bake, covered, at 350°F for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove cover and continue to bake for an additional 10 minutes to brown the cheese.
