Salmon Biscuit Roll
A savory salmon biscuit roll combines tender vegetables, flaky biscuit dough, and flavorful canned salmon for a hearty, comforting dish perfect for family dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup chopped celery ⓘ
- 1/2 cup chopped green pepper ⓘ
- 1/4 cup chopped onion ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine ⓘ
- 1/2 cup chopped black olives (optional) ⓘ
- 1 (1 lb) can red salmon ⓘ
- 1 (10 1/2 oz) can condensed cream of chicken soup ⓘ
- 2 cups biscuit mix
- 2/3 cup milk ⓘ
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon water ⓘ
- Piquant Sauce (recipe follows) ⓘ
Instructions
- Saute chopped celery, green pepper, and onion in butter until tender; add chopped black olives if desired.
- Drain the canned salmon and reserve 1/4 cup of the liquid from the salmon.
- Mix the salmon with 1/4 cup of condensed cream of chicken soup and set aside.
- Prepare the biscuit dough by mixing biscuit mix, milk, and egg until combined.
- Roll out the biscuit dough and spread the salmon mixture evenly over it.
- Roll up the dough into a log and place it in a greased baking dish.
- Mix the remaining chicken soup with water and pour over the rolled dough.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for approximately 25 minutes until golden brown.
