Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. raw shrimp, peeled
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 rib celery, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. green onions and parsley, mixed and finely chopped
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Cut the shrimp into 3 to 4 pieces.
  2. Mix the shrimp with chopped onion, bell pepper, and celery.
  3. Stir in the egg, salt, black pepper, baking powder, and the chopped green onions and parsley.
  4. Add flour and mix well to form a batter.
  5. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours.
  6. Heat cooking oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  7. Form the shrimp mixture into patties and fry until golden brown on both sides.
  8. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
