Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider adding a splash of red wine while simmering the sauce. If you prefer a leaner option, substitute ground turkey for ground beef. You can also use fresh herbs like basil or oregano instead of dried spices for enhanced aroma. To save time, use pre-cooked sausage or even vegetables for a meatless version, making it a versatile base for Italian recipes.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this hearty sauce over your favorite pasta, like spaghetti or penne, for a satisfying meal. It also pairs beautifully with crusty bread for dipping. Consider a side salad or roasted vegetables to complement the richness. For a twist, try it with polenta or in a layered dish like Mostaccioli Bake for a family-friendly option.

Storage & Reheating

Allow the sauce to cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container. It can be refrigerated for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. To reheat, simply warm it gently on the stovetop, adding a splash of water if it’s too thick. Stir occasionally until heated through for best results.
