Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
  • 1 1/4 cup water
  • 2 8 oz. cans Hunts tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. cooked noodles

Instructions

  1. In a deep heavy saucepan, bring onion soup mix, water, and half of the tomato sauce to a boil.
  2. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Mix ground beef, seasonings (garlic salt, thyme, pepper), and remaining tomato sauce.
  4. Shape the mixture into 16 meatballs and place them in the sauce.
  5. Simmer gently uncovered for 25 minutes, turning occasionally, keeping the saucepan covered during cooking.
  6. Serve the meatballs and sauce over hot cooked noodles.
