Ingredients

  • 1 lb sausage
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Swiss cheese
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 2 cups Bisquick
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Brown the sausage and chopped onion in a skillet.
  2. Drain excess fat from the sausage mixture.
  3. In a bowl, combine the sausage mixture with Parmesan cheese, grated Swiss cheese, beaten egg, Tabasco sauce, salt, and chopped parsley.
  4. Make the dough by mixing Bisquick, milk, and mayonnaise until well combined.
  5. Divide the dough in half.
  6. Press half of the dough evenly into a well-greased 8-inch square baking pan.
  7. Spread the sausage mixture over the dough in the pan.
  8. Place the remaining half of the dough on top of the sausage mixture, pressing gently to cover.
  9. Brush the top with a beaten egg yolk.
  10. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, then cut into small squares and serve warm.
