Ingredients

  • 1-2 lbs. Fresh Cod Fillets
  • 1 1/2 C. Milk
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. Flour
  • 2 tbsp. Butter
  • 2 tbsp. Lemon Juice
  • 1 1/2 C. Celery, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 C. Bread Crumbs
  • 1/3 C. Parmesan Cheese
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan, then slowly add flour and cook until blended.
  3. Stir in milk, lemon juice, salt, and pepper; cook until sauce thickens.
  4. In a greased baking dish, arrange cod fillets.
  5. Sprinkle half of the bread crumbs and all of the chopped celery over the cod.
  6. Pour the sauce evenly over the cod and celery.
  7. Sprinkle remaining bread crumbs over the top.
  8. Dot with butter and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
  9. Bake for 25 minutes or until the bread crumbs are golden brown.
