Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. ground pork
  • 1 very large onion
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. crushed garlic
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1+ tsp. curry powder
  • 1 can red kidney beans and liquid
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes and liquid
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef, ground pork, and chopped onion in a large pot.
  2. Drain excess fat and liquid from the meat and onions.
  3. Add crushed garlic, black pepper, cumin, chili powder, and curry powder; cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in the can of red kidney beans with liquid, stewed tomatoes with liquid, and tomato sauce.
  5. Simmer the mixture for 1 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve hot, optionally over rice.
