Ingredients

  • 10 oz. stale French bread, crumbled or 6 to 8 cups any type bread
  • 4 cups milk
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 8 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp. nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Ensure the mixture is very moist, but not soupy.
  3. Pour the mixture into a buttered 9 x 12-inch (or larger) baking dish.
  4. Place the dish into a non-preheated oven.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  6. Serve warm.
