  • pinch sweet basil
  • pinch thyme
  • 1 tsp. parsley
  • juice of 1/2 lemon

  3. Add crushed garlic and sauté until light brown, about 1 minute.
  4. Add bay leaves, oregano, sweet basil, thyme, and sliced mushrooms; cook briefly.

Tips & Substitutions

For added depth, consider using fresh herbs instead of dried; they enhance the flavor significantly. If you want a lighter dish, substitute half the margarine and butter with olive oil. For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free breadcrumbs. This shrimp linguini pairs nicely with a simple salad or garlic bread, making it a well-rounded meal.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this shrimp linguini over a bed of freshly cooked linguini or enjoy it on its own for a lighter option. It pairs beautifully with a side of Marinated Italian Salad or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce. A chilled glass of white wine complements the dish perfectly.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. When reheating, do so gently on the stovetop over low heat to prevent the shrimp from becoming rubbery. You can also add a splash of white wine or lemon juice to revive the sauce's flavor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use frozen shrimp for this recipe?

Yes, frozen shrimp can be used, but make sure to thaw them completely before cooking. Pat them dry to avoid excess moisture, which can affect the sauce's consistency.

What can I substitute for white wine?

If you prefer not to use wine, substitute with vegetable broth or a mixture of apple cider vinegar and water. This will retain some acidity and depth in the dish.

How can I make this dish spicier?

To add some heat, incorporate red pepper flakes into the sautéed garlic or choose a spicier seasoning blend. You can also add a dash of hot sauce to the finished dish for an extra kick.
