Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup elbow macaroni
  • 6 large green peppers
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 cup grated Swiss cheese
  • 2 (4 1/2 oz) cans shrimp

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni; drain.
  2. Cut off tops of peppers; remove seeds and membrane.
  3. Precook peppers in salted water for 5 minutes; drain.
  4. Cook celery in butter.
  5. Stir in flour, seasoned salt, and basil.
  6. Add milk and Worcestershire sauce.
  7. Cook until thick.
  8. Add 1/4 cup cheese and wine; stir until cheese melts.
  9. Stir in shrimp and macaroni.
  10. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
  11. Add remaining cheese (1/2 cup) atop peppers.
  12. Bake 3 minutes more.
