Tips & Substitutions

For an even richer flavor, consider using unsalted butter and adding a splash of hot sauce for extra heat. If fresh shrimp is unavailable, frozen shrimp can be used; just ensure they are fully thawed before cooking. You can substitute shallots with onions if needed, but shallots add a subtle sweetness that complements the garlic nicely.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the shrimp over a bed of rice or alongside crusty bread to soak up the delicious garlic sauce. A fresh green salad or roasted vegetables pairs well, creating a balanced meal. This dish pairs beautifully with Tuna Pecan Salad for a delightful seafood feast.

Storage & Reheating

Leftover shrimp can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. To reheat, gently warm the shrimp in a skillet over medium heat, adding a bit of butter or oil to prevent drying out. Avoid microwaving, as it can make the shrimp rubbery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use smaller shrimp for this recipe?

Yes, you can use smaller shrimp, but be mindful of the cooking time. Smaller shrimp will cook faster, so adjust the broiling time to prevent overcooking, which can make them tough.

What can I use instead of dry white wine?

If you prefer not to use wine, you can substitute with chicken broth or vegetable broth for added flavor. A splash of vinegar or lemon juice can also mimic the acidity of wine.

Can I make this recipe ahead of time?

While it's best served fresh, you can prepare the garlic butter mixture in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Just reheat it before pouring over the shrimp and broiling for best results.
