Hearty skillet steak dinner featuring tender sirloin wrapped around carrots, potatoes, and onions, all simmered in creamy mushroom soup for a comforting, flavorful meal perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. sirloin steak
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 4 small carrots
  • 4 small potatoes
  • 4 small onions
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup

Instructions

  1. Cut the sirloin steak into pieces and dredge in flour seasoned with salt.
  2. Place 3 or 4 carrot strips on each piece of steak.
  3. Wrap the steak around the carrots and fasten with toothpicks.
  4. Brown the wrapped steaks slowly in shortening, then add the potatoes and onions to the skillet.
  5. Pour the cream of mushroom soup over all the ingredients.
  6. Cover the skillet and simmer for 45 minutes or until the potatoes and vegetables are soft.
