Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups oatmeal
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 2/3 cup melted margarine
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup honey or molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Toast oats in a 9 x 13-inch pan in a 350°F oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
  2. Place toasted oats in a large bowl and add remaining ingredients.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Press firmly into a well-greased 11 x 16-inch pan.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
  6. Cool and cut into squares.
