Spiced Brown Bread Muffins

Ingredients

  • 2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 c. packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 3/4 c. raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Grease 6 muffin cups.
  3. In a large bowl, combine flours, sugar, baking soda and pumpkin spice.
  4. Stir in buttermilk until mixture is moist. Fold in raisins.
  5. Spoon into muffin cups.
  6. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes until pick comes out clean. Remove from pan.
  7. Makes 6 giant muffins.
