Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork sausage
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 3/4 cup chopped celery
  • 2 cans tomato sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 2 cups cooked elbow macaroni
  • 8 oz sliced Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground pork sausage in a skillet and drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onion and celery to the sausage and cook lightly until softened.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, basil, and cooked elbow macaroni; mix well.
  4. Layer half of the sausage mixture in a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish and cover with half of the sliced mozzarella cheese.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining sausage mixture and cheese.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes until hot and bubbly.
