Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. frozen chopped spinach
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup canned milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable liquid
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 3/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 6 oz. jalapeño cheese
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • red pepper to taste
  • bread crumbs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the frozen chopped spinach according to package directions, then drain and save the liquid.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan and add flour and chopped onion; cook until softened.
  3. Gradually add the reserved liquid while stirring constantly to create a smooth mixture.
  4. Stir in canned milk, seasonings, and jalapeño cheese until melted and well combined.
  5. Add the cooked spinach and mix thoroughly.
  6. Optionally, sprinkle with bread crumbs and bake at 350°F until bubbly and golden on top.
