Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 oz. macaroni
  • 1 (14 oz.) can chicken broth
  • 2 (10 3/4 oz.) cans cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups chopped ham
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 2 ribs celery, diced
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
  • 2 cups cooked chicken
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare macaroni according to package directions and set aside.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine cooked macaroni, chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, and milk; set aside.
  3. In a large soup pot, sauté ham, diced onion, sliced carrots, and diced celery in butter until vegetables are tender.
  4. Add the broth mixture to the pot and simmer over medium-low heat for 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in the canned tomatoes, cooked chicken, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Add half and half to the soup and gently heat through before serving.
