Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider using a combination of butter and olive oil when browning the steaks. You can substitute the buttermilk with regular milk mixed with a tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice if necessary. If you prefer a vegetarian option, try replacing the steaks with extra firm tofu and using vegetable broth instead of buttermilk for a similar creamy texture.

Serving Suggestions

This casserole pairs beautifully with a crisp green salad or steamed vegetables for a complete meal. For added texture, serve with crusty bread or a side of Microwaved Creamy Mashed Potatoes. A glass of red wine can also complement the rich flavors of the dish, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, cover with foil and warm in a 350°F oven for about 20-30 minutes, or until heated through. You can also microwave portions for quicker reheating, ensuring they are heated evenly throughout.
