Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 4 small onions, chopped
  • 6 stalks celery, chopped
  • 4 carrots, sliced
  • 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 (10 oz.) packages frozen mixed vegetables
  • 2 pounds ground beef, browned and drained
  • 4 to 6 tablespoons beef granules or dried au jus mix
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup flour

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients except butter and flour in the Crock-Pot.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
  3. One hour before serving, turn the slow cooker to high.
  4. Make a thickening by combining melted butter and flour until smooth.
  5. Stir the thickener into the soup.
  6. Cook on high until the soup thickens.
