Ingredients

  • 2 lb. round beef steak
  • 4 Tbsp. vegetable oil, divided
  • 1 lb. noodles
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 3/4 c. boiling water
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 lb. fresh mushrooms or 2 cans sliced and drained mushrooms
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 1/4 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Place the meat in the freezer for 30 minutes before slicing.
  2. Slice the meat thinly on the diagonal.
  3. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
  4. Add a few pieces of meat and brown well on all sides.
  5. Set the browned meat aside.
  6. Add remaining oil if needed, then cook sliced onion and green pepper until tender.
  7. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  8. Sprinkle flour over vegetables and stir well.
  9. Gradually add boiling water, stirring constantly to make a sauce.
  10. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and sliced mushrooms.
  11. Return the browned meat to the skillet and cook until heated through.
  12. Meanwhile, cook noodles according to package instructions, then drain.
  13. Serve the beef and mushroom mixture over cooked noodles.
