Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, brown sugar, and butter until crumbly.
  2. Stir in chopped walnuts.
  3. Place the mixture in a baking pan.
  4. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.
  5. Place two-thirds of the crumb mixture in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  6. In a large, deep bowl, combine egg whites, sugar, strawberries, and lemon juice.
  7. Whip with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
  8. Fold whipped cream into the strawberry mixture.
  9. Spread the strawberry mixture over the crumb layer in the baking dish.
  10. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture on top.
  11. Freeze for 6 hours or overnight before serving.
