Ingredients

  • 1 beaten egg
  • 3/4 cup quick cooking rolled oats
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 cups chopped fresh mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup dairy sour cream

Instructions

  1. Combine beaten egg, quick cooking rolled oats, milk, salt, Worcestershire sauce, and ground beef; mix well.
  2. Place half of the mixture in a loaf shape in a shallow baking pan.
  3. Make a well in the center of the loaf.
  4. Brown chopped mushrooms and chopped onion in butter or margarine.
  5. Stir in dairy sour cream and remaining salt.
  6. Spoon the mushroom and sour cream mixture into the well in the loaf.
  7. Top with the remaining meat mixture and seal.
  8. Bake in a 350°F oven for 1 hour.
  9. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
