Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 pounds stew meat
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 (10 oz.) cans beef broth
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 large potatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 6 carrots, chopped
  • 1 pound fresh mushrooms, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle flour, salt, and pepper over the stew meat.
  2. In a large stockpot, heat the vegetable oil.
  3. Add the meat and cook until browned.
  4. Add the beef broth and water to the pot.
  5. Add chopped potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, and minced garlic to the pot.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 50 to 55 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream.
