Ingredients

  • 2 large green peppers
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup cooked rice
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut off the tops of the peppers and remove the seeds.
  2. Cook the peppers in boiling water to cover for 5 minutes.
  3. Cook chopped celery and onion in a little oil until tender.
  4. Brown the ground beef in a skillet.
  5. Combine cooked celery, onion, ground beef, cooked rice, tomato sauce, salt, beaten egg, and pepper.
  6. Stuff the mixture into the prepared peppers.
  7. Place the stuffed peppers in a baking pan, cover, and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
