Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 jar plum or prune Jr. baby food
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup nuts
  • 1 teaspoon allspice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  4. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
