Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup prunes cooked and chopped
  • 3/4 cup butter or oleo
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons soda
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Sift together the flour, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar until smooth, then add the eggs and beat well.
  3. Alternately add the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the creamed mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
  4. Fold in the cooked and chopped prunes.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  6. Bake at 325°F (160°C) for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Pour glaze over the hot cake and serve.
