Ingredients

  • 3 sticks butter or margarine, softened
  • 8 egg yolks
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 1 Oetker baking powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 packages Oetker vanilla sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 can cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. Mix all ingredients together, except for the cherry pie filling.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  4. Place the cherry pie filling on top of the batter, spacing cherries about 1/2 inch apart.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes or until the cake is done and a tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
