Tips & Substitutions

For a twist, try using turkey bacon or ground turkey instead of traditional bacon and beef for a lighter option. You can also substitute the canned beans with any variety you prefer, such as black beans or pinto beans. If you're looking to enhance the flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of smoked paprika or a dash of hot sauce.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this dish hot, garnished with fresh parsley for a pop of color. It pairs beautifully with cornbread or a simple green salad for a complete meal. For a heartier option, consider serving it alongside rice or baked potatoes. This dish is perfect for potlucks or family gatherings.

Storage & Reheating

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. To reheat, simply place in a microwave-safe dish and heat until warm, stirring occasionally. Alternatively, you can reheat in a saucepan over medium heat, adding a splash of water to prevent drying out.
