Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 1/2 cups biscuit mix
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup American cheese, grated
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Saute onions in butter until translucent.
  3. Mix the sautéed onions, biscuit mix, milk, egg, and half of the grated cheese in a bowl.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased 8-inch baking pan.
  5. Top with the remaining cheese and sprinkle poppy seed on top.
  6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
