Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. bacon drippings
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 2 medium green peppers, chopped
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup white rice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Place bacon drippings, chopped onions, and chopped green peppers in a large skillet.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring with a fork to break up the ground beef until lightly browned.
  3. Add black pepper, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, canned tomatoes, rice, water, chili powder, salt, and hot sauce to the skillet.
  4. Mix well; pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish.
  5. Cover with a lid or foil and bake at 375°F for 45 minutes.
  6. Stir the dish twice during cooking.
