Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground chuck
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup uncooked rice
  • 1/4 cup cracker crumbs
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 3/4 cup hot water
  • 1/4 oz. can mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Combine ground chuck, chopped onion, uncooked rice, cracker crumbs, milk, salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning in a bowl.
  2. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs and brown them on all sides in a skillet.
  4. Add the cream of mushroom soup diluted with hot water to the skillet.
  5. Cover and simmer for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the canned mushrooms.
  7. Bring the mixture to a boil and serve hot with mashed potatoes and green beans.
