A hearty, flavorful chili with rich tomato and beef notes, spiced with chili powders and hot sauces, perfect for comforting gatherings or casual weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 1/2 c. onion, chopped
  • 35 oz. can Italian tomatoes in juice
  • 6 Tbsp. tomato paste
  • 6 Tbsp. chili powder
  • Tabasco, to taste
  • crushed red chilis, to taste
  • 15 oz. can kidney beans, strained and rinsed

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in 1 tablespoon vegetable oil.
  2. Add chopped onions and cook over high heat for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add Italian tomatoes in juice and tomato paste to the pot.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. Let simmer gently for 20 minutes.
  6. Add strained and rinsed kidney beans, chili powder, Tabasco, crushed red chilis, garlic salt, and pepper.
  7. Simmer for an additional 20 minutes before serving.
