Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter or butter-flavored Crisco
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup Heath bar chips
  • parchment paper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, cream the butter, then add the light brown sugar, vanilla extract, and egg; beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt, then gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  4. Stir in the Heath bar chips.
  5. Drop by 1/2 teaspoonfuls onto the prepared parchment-lined cookie sheet.
  6. Bake for about 5 to 8 minutes until golden around the edges.
  7. Allow cookies to cool for about 1/2 minute on the sheet, then transfer to wax paper to cool completely.
