Instructions
- Cream butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla until well blended.
- Stir in flour and salt until the mixture is smooth.
- Pat the dough into a rectangle on a greased 11 x 17-inch cookie sheet.
- Bake at 325°F for 10 to 15 minutes until lightly golden.
- Remove from oven and immediately spread broken pieces of Hershey bars onto the hot crust.
- Let the chocolate soften for a few minutes.
- If needed, return the cookie sheet to the oven for a minute to help the chocolate melt completely.
- Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the entire cookie crust.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts over the chocolate layer.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
