- Stir together cornmeal, salt, and baking soda.
- Add buttermilk, eggs, creamed corn, chopped garlic, chopped jalapenos, and chopped onion; mix well.
- Stir in grated cheese.
- Grease a 9 x 12-inch pan and spread half of the batter evenly in the pan.
- Spread cooked and drained ground beef over the first layer of batter.
- Top with the remaining batter, spreading evenly.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour.
- Serve hot, ideally with a green salad for a complete meal.
