Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons creme de cacao
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped toasted macadamia nuts
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tablespoons coarse sugar

Instructions

  1. Beat butter, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  2. Beat in 2 eggs, 1 egg yolk, and creme de cacao.
  3. Add cocoa, flour, mini chocolate chips, and chopped toasted macadamia nuts; mix until well combined.
  4. Divide dough in half.
  5. Shape each half into an 11-inch long roll and flatten to 2 inches in width.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) until set, about 20-25 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool slightly, then cut each roll diagonally into slices.
  8. Bake slices again until crisp and dry, about 10-15 minutes.
