Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 ounces fresh gingerroot, peeled and grated

Instructions
