Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 2 (7 oz) cans tuna, drained
  • 1 bunch fresh broccoli or 2 packages frozen spears
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese or toasted almonds
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup dry vermouth or dry white wine

Instructions

  1. Cook broccoli in boiling, salted water until crisp-tender. Drain.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan.
  3. Blend in flour, salt, and pepper; cook until bubbly.
  4. Add milk all at once; cook and stir constantly until thickened.
  5. Add wine and cook for 1 minute longer.
  6. Add drained tuna to the sauce.
  7. Arrange cooked broccoli in a greased 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
  8. Pour the sauce over the broccoli.
  9. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese or toasted almonds.
  10. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
